MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Some consider it the next big thing, and it’s going on sale at Best Buy. The Richfield-based retailer of consumer electronics is out with a “smart watch.”

It’s being described as something like a smart phone, only it fits around your wrist.

“It’s more like … see what your smart phone is doing, via your wrist. But yes, it’s very similar,” said Best Buy spokesperson Carly Morris.

Morris says the smart watch uses a Bluetooth connection to alert users to text messages, e-mails and phone calls.

It’s available as part of an exclusive deal with Pebble Technology.

Industry analysts see wearable mobile devices as the next big thing.
