Fatal Crash After Semi Fails To Stop At Sign

VIVIAN, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police say a semi truck failed to stop at a stop sign in Waseca County, leading to a fatal crash on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 83 at about 2:30 p.m.

Authorities said that the semi truck was driving southbound on Highway 83 when it failed to stop.

The semi struck a pickup truck that was traveling east on Highway 30.

The driver of the pickup truck -- 41-year-old Todd Owen of Owatonna, Minn. -- was killed in the crash.

The driver of the semi truck was 37-year-old Gregory Wendinger. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
