MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Paul rolled out the red carpet for an annual event that brings the biggest names in Hollywood to town.

It's all for the Starkey Foundation, which provides hundreds of thousands of hearing aids to people around the world.

As a way to thanks those involved, Starkey's founder, Bill Austin, and St. Paul has held the "So The World May Hear" Awards Gala for the last 12 years. The event is also a major fundraiser for those in need.

Movie, TV and music superstars always come to town to celebrate the life-changing work the foundation does.

"We get so much and we're so blessed. Boy, we are so grateful to be able to do that," Alan Kalter, announcer for the Late Show with David Letterman, said.

Austin, who lives in Eden Prairie, talked with WCCO. Watch the report above for more!
