River Falls (Wis.) Man, 66, Killed In St. Croix County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 66-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in western Wisconsin, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities were called to the area of County Highway G and County Highway T in Erin Prairie Township, located near Baldwin and New Richmond, at about 6:25 a.m. on a report of a crash. When they arrived, they learned a 1997 Ford Ranger pick-up truck was heading eastbound on County Highway G and a 1999 Honda Odyssey was heading northbound on County Highway T.

The driver of the Odyssey, a 66-year-old man from River Falls, Wis., stopped at a stop sign on Highway T, proceeded into the intersection and was hit by the Ford Ranger. The driver of the Odyssey, identified as William R. Eubank, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle ended up on its roof in the aftermath of the crash. The pick-up truck ended up on its side, authorities said, and the driver was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office said both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. It's the seventh road fatality in Wisconsin this year.

Authorities said what led up to the crash is still under investigation, including the weather conditions as heavy fog appeared to be a factor.
