Will Vikes' Jarius Wright Emerge As Offensive Threat In 2nd Year?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings have a number of receivers after Greg Jennings trying to get into the rotation. Among them, Jarius Wright is an interesting candidate.

Last year, Wright did enough to be confident about his second year in the NFL.

"I'm more comfortable. I've had a chance to have a full off-season with the team, with all the quarterbacks and take a lot of reps," Wright said.

Watching him at training camp, it's easy to see that he belongs. He knows this is his home.

"That really helped my confidence out, getting a chance to play in some of those games," Wright said. "Playing and practice is not quite the same. Being able to go out there and play against another team and not do great things, but make a difference in the game."

He knows he's not a straight-up replacement for former Viking Percy Harvin. No one is.

"No one on the team expects me to be Percy Harvin. None of the coaches expect me to be Percy Harvin. All I can be is Jarius Wright," he said.

Catching the football has not been a problem for Wright this year.

However, the big question is: Can he return punts? If he can, he might become one of their more impressive offensive weapons.
