Dakota County Fair Starts Monday In Farmington

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – There's no better display of summer in Minnesota than county fairs and weekend festivals in cities throughout the state.

The countdown is also now on to the Minnesota State Fair as we're a little more than three weeks away from the "Great Minnesota Get-Together." But you don't have to wait to get in on the fair fun.

Just south of the Twin Cities, the Dakota County Fair will get started Monday afternoon in Farmington. It will feature all the customary county fair features, including rides for the kids, great food and games.

One new feature this year: A bacon-cheddar corn dog at the Schroder Concession Stand that normally features corndogs and foot-long hot dogs. That same stand also sells freshly-squeezed lemonade.

The Dakota County Fair starts Monday and goes all week, including live concerts starting Wednesday.
