Minn. Corn, Soybean Pasture Conditions Decline

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The condition of Minnesota's corn and soybean crops declined slightly for the second straight week amid a dry week across the state.

In its weekly crops and weather report for Minnesota, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Monday that the state received an average of only 0.11 inches of rain last week, while south-central Minnesota received no measurable rainfall. That reduced topsoil moisture levels to 38 percent short or very short, and subsoil moisture levels to 28 percent short-to-very short.

Corn conditions declined slightly to 60 percent good or excellent, compared with 62 percent a week earlier, while soybean conditions dipped to 61 percent good or excellent, compared with 63 percent a week earlier.

Pastures rated good to excellent declined to 60 percent, compared with 68 percent a week earlier.
