Hennepin County Jail Inmate Dies After Seizure

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a female inmate at the Hennepin County Jail died of an apparent seizure Wednesday night.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said the inmate suffered the seizure at about 4:55 p.m. Wednesday. It wasn't immediately clear where the incident took place, but authorities said other inmates did witness it.

Emergency personnel immediately provided medical care to the 38-year-old inmate. The woman was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she died a short time later.

Her identity has not yet been released.
