MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Adrian Peterson has reached another milestone of his decorated career: the cover of the Wheaties box.

The Vikings star was all smiles after practice on Tuesday when asked about his latest endorsement deal. He called it "probably one of my greatest accomplishments."

Golden Valley-based General Mills announced this week that Peterson will appear on the ubiquitous orange boxes with the first of three versions due out in the coming days. Peterson said he grew up regularly eating the cereal with bananas as a topping, heeding his mother's advice to eat healthy.

Peterson recalled Walter Payton and Michael Johnson among the favorite box cover athletes of his youth. He said he always used to tell himself "one day I want to be on the cover of the Wheaties box."
