DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Laddy, a 7-year-old border collie who was missing for two days, has been found two blocks from his Iowa home — stuck up a tree.
According to a report in the Quad-City Times, Ron Stevenson was working in the yard of his Davenport home Sunday morning when he heard a dog whining. He followed the sound along his driveway and looked up to see a dog at least 10 feet up in the tree.READ MORE: Vaccine Clinic To Be Held Outside U.S. Bank Stadium Ahead Of Rolling Stones Concert
Stevenson retrieved the dog. A police officer who responded to his 911 call had seen fliers and knew where the dog lived.
After their reunion, Laddy’s owner Cynthia Weeks said the dog probably was chasing a squirrel.READ MORE: Fourth Stimulus Check: Will You See Another Relief Payment?
Stevenson says Laddy maybe ran up the oak’s gradually sloping trunk but then became too scared to run back down.
