1 Found Dead In Northern Minnesota Cabin Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a body was found following a fire at a cabin just south of Tower, Minn., Saturday night, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities responded to a hunting shack at about 7:17 p.m. Saturday on Wiseman Road in Vermillion Lake Township, which is about six miles southwest of Tower, on a report of a fire. When authorities arrived, the owner told them he discovered the shack had been destroyed by fire and found human remains in the ashes.

The victim's cause of death has not yet been determined and that victim has not been identified. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fire with assistance from the State Fire Marshal's Office.
