Missing Man's Body Found In Shorewood Home; Person Of Interest Held

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A person of interest is being held by police in the west metro Wednesday after a missing man's body was found in a Shorewood home.

Officers found the body while executing a search warrant at 5700 Wood Duck Circle, according to the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department.

Authorities say the death is "suspicious in nature." The deceased has not been named.

A press release said a person of interest is being held pending further investigation.

When speaking to reporters Wednesday evening, Chief Bryan Litsey said the community is not believed to be at risk. He said that incidents like this are rare, adding that this is the first suspicious death the department has worked all year.

Neighbors said that investigators had been in the area for a few days, asking questions.

"The cops came to our house a couple days ago, asking if we'd seen a guy. Apparently, he was supposed to be in Chicago and never made it," said Dan Beitelshees, a neighbor.

He says police arrested a woman Wednesday at around 1 p.m.

The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department serves the communities of Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood, and Tonka Bay.
