MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A second person has died in a Granite Falls, Minn. shooting, according to police.
Nearly a week after his girlfriend was murdered, 28-year-old Chris Panitzke of Redwood Falls died from his injuries.READ MORE: Man Shot In Neck During Shootout In St. Paul, Police Say
Panitzke and his girlfriend, Kara Monson, were both shot last Monday at her home in Granite Falls. Monson was dead at the scene. Panitzke died Sunday afternoon.
Police identified 28-year-old Andrew Dikken of Sacred Heart, Minn. as a person of interest in the case. He had a past relationship with Monson and police want to question him.READ MORE: Alexis Saborit Now Charged With 1st-Degree Murder In Girlfriend's Beheading
Last week, authorities found Dikken’s truck in a remote area between the towns of Belview and Sacred Heart.
Monson’s cousins said Dikken and Monson dated for years, in fact, they said Dikken was a close family friend. They never expected to hear his name in connection with the murder of their family member.MORE NEWS: 3 Shootings In Minneapolis Leave 6 Injured, 2 Critically
The BCA said he may be armed and dangerous.
