ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (WCCO) – Police discovered an outdoor marijuana growing operation while serving a search warrant for an Alexandria man Friday, according to authorities.
Alexandria Police, the Douglas County Sheriff’s office and agents from the West Central Minn. Narcotics Task Force were executing a search warrant Friday for 46-year-old Warren McArdell at 9290 State Hwy 114 SW in Alexandria.READ MORE: Minnesota Weather: Chance For More Snow Showers Tuesday Morning
While searching for McArdell on the property, which is owned by 53-year-old William James Doraska, authorities discovered a marijuana growing operation.READ MORE: Minnesota Budget Forecast Expected To Show More Improvement
After obtaining a second search warrant, officers found 44 large, mature plants growing outdoors on the property, processed marijuana, four guns and surveillance equipment.

Authorities say more arrests in connection to the growing operation are expected.
