Police: Granite Falls Double Homicide Suspect Arrested

GRANITE FALLS, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police have arrested the suspect in the Granite Falls double homicide.

Andrew Joseph Dikken was taken into custody at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the Renville County Sheriff's Office in Olivia, Minn., according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Dikken was being sought in the Sept. 2 shooting deaths of Kara Ann Monson, 26, of Granite Falls, and Christopher Allen Panitzke, 28, of Redwood Falls.

Dikken was brought to the sheriff's office by family members who have been cooperating with the investigation.
He was transported to the Yellow Medicine County Jail where he will be held pending arraignment in Yellow County District Court.

The Granite Falls Police Department is continuing its investigation and the BCA is assisting.
