Curiocity: Mike's Mix — The Russian Honeybee
Every Friday, Mike Augustyniak will be picking up a new cocktail recipe from a local mixologist. Throughout October, he's getting his inspirations from Dustin House. This week's selection: The Russian Honeybee.
Ingredients
1.5oz of Honey Vodka (preferably infused)
2.5oz of Cider Beer
2.5oz of Apple Juice
Garnish: 1 Green Apple Wedge
Directions
Shake vodka and apple juice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Top with cider beer. Garnish with an apple wedge.
Taste Test
I'm not a big fan of honey in general, but I didn't really pick up on the taste of honey in this drink. You could easily substitute your favorite unflavored vodka in place of the honey-infused vodka, because the cider gives this drink most of its flavor. The sweetness is there, though, and this went down dangerously smooth.
About Dustin
Dustin House is the general manager of the Valley Tap House in Apple Valley, but will be opening a new Uptown Minneapolis vodka bar in early November called Hammer & Sickle.
