Dayton Taps Lawyer For Minn. Campaign Board

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Democratic lawyer who once ran for Minnesota secretary of state has been chosen to sit on the state's campaign regulatory board.

Gov. Mark Dayton on Friday chose Christian Sande to fill a vacancy on the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board, which maintains the required partisan balance on the authority.

Sande ran unsuccessfully in 2006 for the Democratic nomination for secretary of state.

Sande has his own law practice, focusing on fraud cases and election law.

He replaces Andrew Luger, who stepped down to become Minnesota's top federal prosecutor.
