Memorial Held For 'U' Student Found Dead In Lonsdale

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A memorial service was held Sunday afternoon for a University of Minnesota student found dead more than a week after she went missing.

Anarae Schunk, 20, was found dead Monday in a ditch near Lonsdale.

Her loved ones held a memorial at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. They said she'll be remembered for her passion, wit and compassion.

Police believe she died at a Rosemount townhouse where she went with her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend after they left Nina's Grill in Burnsville two weeks ago.

Schunk's ex-boyfriend, Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, is accused of killing 23-year-old Palagor Obang Jobi, of Savage, outside that restaurant.

Police have said Schunk's death is related to that investigation, but is being treated separately.

Donations to help Schunk's family are being accepted at any US Bank.
