Prepping Your Lawn For Fall With Bachman's

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Summer is officially over, but there's still a few lawn chores you need to do because the secret to a beautiful lawn in the spring starts now.

Susie Bachman said fall is a wonderful time to pay attention to your lawn, and it's also crucial if you want your grass to look good when the snow melts in the spring. Putting the right chemicals down in the fall for your grass is essential before the winter hits so you have a healthy lawn that's ready to grow when the spring rain hits.

Warm days and cool nights are excellent for seeding grass, and give your lawn plenty of water. Bachman said you definitely want to make sure you fertilize your grass before the winter so a solid root system grows for the spring. Also, raking the leaves will also help keep your grass healthy though the winter.

Now that your lawn is ready for fall, Susie gives us the secrets to winterizing your lawn and garden next week with snow on the horizon.
