President Of College Of St. Benedict To Step Down
ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (AP) — The president of the College of St. Benedict says she is stepping down next year.
MaryAnn Baenninger told the college's Board of Trustees she will step down on June 30, 2014.
Baenninger says this is the right time for a transition for her and St. Ben's. She says the Catholic women's college in St. Joseph will have concluded its centennial celebration year.
Baenninger also says she and her husband are ready to move closer to their children and grandchildren.
The Board of Trustees will begin a search for a new president immediately.
Baenninger is the college's 14th president. She began in August 2004 and has the most years of service of any of the lay presidents to lead the college.
Enrollment at St. Ben's is about 2,000.
