Woman Hit By Car, Killed In Chaska On Halloween Night

CHASKA, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities said a woman is dead after being hit by a car in a busy intersection Thursday night in the southwest Twin Cities metro.

Police said the crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. in Chaska near State Street and Chaska Boulevard. A 65-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was hit by car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the car did stop at the scene and was cooperative with police. Authorities said they don't suspect alcohol was a factor in the accident. It also was not related to Halloween activities.

What let up to the crash is still under investigation. The victim's name has not been released.
