Did You Remember To Change Your Clock?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It is the end of Daylight Saving Time, when we gain one hour of sleep. Dr. Emran Khawaja is a sleep expert at HCMC.

He said most of us are sleep deprived, and should enjoy the extra hour. He also recommends keeping a regular sleep schedule, if you can.

"It is a good idea, because if people don't wake up at the same time, especially on the weekends, if they go to bed late and wake up late, then it's difficult to go to sleep Sunday night," Khawaja said.

There are also studies to back up why getting more sleep is better.

"When we end the daylight saving time in autumn, there is a decrease in heart attacks and accidents, whereas when we do it in the spring there is an increase of heart disease," he said.

Fire safety experts also say this is a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
