Why This Weekend Was Special To Horologists

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- For one man in South Minneapolis, every second, minute and hour makes a difference. Tom Trudell has been keeping track of time for 30 years at his shop It's About Time.

There's actually a name for what he does -- Trudell is a horologist, or someone who works with time pieces.

You can imagine he was busy over the weekend with people paying more attention to the clock due to the daylight saving time switch.

"The passage of time is nothing that we can control, but we can mark it," he said. "And that's what our clocks do."

Despite the rise of smartphones and other technology, Trudell believes nostalgia will always keep people reaching for those classic time pieces.
