Woman Sentenced For Role In Hit-And-Run Death Of Macalester Student

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 28-year-old St. Paul woman was sentenced for her role in the hit-and-run death of a Macalester student in September 2012.

Danielle Keller was recently sentenced to 25 days in prison and a $150 fine for careless driving.

More than a year ago, Keller's SUV hit Cleo Thiberge as Thiberge was crossing Hamline Avenue near the intersection of Grand Avenue. Thiberge was pinned under the vehicle and died from her injuries in the hospital a couple days later.

Initially, Keller pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor careless driving, but charged her plea to guilty last week and was immediately sentenced.
