Hunter, 85, Safe After Becoming Lost In NE Minn.
FORBES, Minn. (AP) — An 85-year-old deer hunter is safe after becoming lost in northeastern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County sheriff's office says the Scanlon man got lost while following a deer in the woods. The sheriff's volunteer rescue squad was called after members of his hunting party were unable to find him.
Authorities say the lost hunter fired three shots in the air from his rifle. A neighboring hunter heard the shots and found the man.
The missing hunter was found unhurt about a mile from his hunting camp around 5 p.m. Friday.
