Minnesota State, Bethel Get High Playoff Seeds

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — The unbeaten Minnesota State Mavericks have a first-round bye in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Minnesota State will host on Nov. 30 the winner of this Saturday's game — rival St. Cloud State at Henderson State in Arkansas. The Mavericks are 11-0 and the second seed in their region of the 24-team tournament.

Minnesota Duluth was the third Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference team in the field and will host Emporia State of Kansas this Saturday.

Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Bethel University drew one of the top four seeds in the 32-team Division III playoff bracket. The Royals are 10-0 and will host St. Scholastica this Saturday in the first round. Both Concordia and St. Thomas finished 8-2, but neither received an at-large bid to the tournament.
