Gophers Beat UMD 6-1, Win 4th Straight
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The University of Minnesota men's hockey team scored six unanswered goals Friday night to overcome a slow start in a 6-1 victory over Minnesota-Duluth Friday night in non-conference action at Mariucci Arena.
Minnesota (9-1-1), ranked No. 1 in the nation, came back from an early 1-0 deficit with first-period goals from A.J. Michaelson, Tom Serratore and Justin Kloos.
The Gophers added three more goals in the second period from Kyle Rau, Travis Boyd and Michael Brodzinski. The Gophers had 11 different players record a point in the win.
Minnesota hosts UMD in the series finale at 4 p.m. Sunday at Mariucci Arena.
