ST. PAUL PARK, Minn. (WCCO) — This morning, the WCCO Morning Show is honoring another excellent educator  in the metro who has gone above and beyond to make a difference in students’ lives.

This week’s excellent educator took Jamie Yuccas to Otlman Middle School in St. Paul Park, where she caught up with Jamie Kirshner.

Students there say Kirshner is a science teacher who really stands out from the rest.

“She’s one of those teachers that’s just a perennial kid favorite. She’s someone that just naturally connects with students,” said one parent. “It goes beyond just, you know, having fun and entertaining them. (She) just is able to engage students.”

Students say she’s great at making the subject of science anything but boring.

“They’re more entertaining than me, so I have more fun because they make it fun,” Kirshner said. “I always tell you guys — right? — don’t bore me because I won’t bore you. Fair deal, right?”

You can nominate a deserving educator by going to the WCCO Morning Show’s Facebook page, telling us their name and why they should be WCCO’s Excellent Educator of the week.
