Thanksgiving Day Chase Ends With Stop Sticks, Taser

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Just before midnight on Thanksgiving Day, St. Cloud police say they were led on a car chase that ended with a 23-year-old driver being tased and arrested on DWI and other charges.

Paul Joseph Arthur Kruse, of Monticello, Minn., is currently being held in the Stearns County Jail for fleeing a police officer, various DWI charges, speeding and driving after revocation.

The St. Cloud Police Department says officers tried to stop Kruse on minute before midnight for a routine traffic violation near the intersection of Interstate 94 and County Road 136. But when Kruse didn't stop, a chase began up I-94.

Officers used stop sticks near the Avon Exit for County Road 6 to stop Kruse. Police say he was non-compliant and so they tased him.

St. Cloud is about 60 miles northwest of the Twin Cities.
