4 Die In Weather-Related Crashes In Minn.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Traffic safety officials are reminding motorists to practice safe winter driving after four people died in Minnesota crashes.

The crashes happened on slippery roads Monday as a burst of snow pushed through Minnesota.

In central Minnesota, a man trying to avoid a jackknifed semi on Interstate 94 was killed when his car collided with the semi near St. Cloud.

A driver died after going off the road in southwest Minnesota, and another driver was killed in northern Minnesota after losing control and sliding sideways into traffic. A driver who was not wearing a seat belt died after going off the road and crashing into a tree in Sherburne County.

State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske says the crashes are a reminder that drivers need to be especially cautious during winter weather.
