Fire Damages Burnsville Hotel, No Injuries

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said there were no injuries but a hotel in the south Twin Cities metro suffered significant damage in a fire early Wednesday.

Crews were called to the Travelodge Hotel on the 10000 block of Aldrich Avenue South in Burnsville at about 12:30 a.m. on a report of a fire. When authorities arrived, one room on the second floor of the hotel had suffered heavy damage. A third alarm was called as the hotel has 41 rooms but does not have a sprinkler system.

Authorities said some occupants of the hotel are displaced as a result of the fire, even though crews were able to put the blaze out quickly.

Fire officials said the cause of the blaze is still under investigation. The Bloomington and Savage Fire Departments provided assistance to the Burnsville Fire Department.
