High School Coach On Leave After Tattooing Minors

COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) - A high school coach has been placed on paid administrative leave for tattooing minors without their parent's permission.

Terry Robert Hardy, 37, is the gymnastics coach at Park High School in Cottage Grove.

He's been cited for two counts of tattooing minors without written parental consent.

Sixteen-year-old Abby Rasmussen told WCCO that Hardy gave her three tattoos and a tongue piercing, all inside his home.

She says Hardy told her he was licensed, but she was supposed to keep it a secret.

Rasmussen's dad said he didn't sign off on it, and called police when he found out.

Hardy has been fired as the gymnastics coordinator for a district community education program.
