Police: Burglaries On The Rise In South Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are warning residents on the south side of Minneapolis after a recent uptick in burglaries in the area.

Police said homeowners in the Third Precinct should keep an extra eye out for suspicious activity. They said there have been a reported 139 home burglaries in that area since November. Authorities said that's up by more than 40 percent compared to this time last year.

Police said in half of these cases, the thieves got into homes through unlocked windows or doors. If you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, don't hesitate to call 911 or Minneapolis Police.
