Zach Sobiech Named Among CNN's 'Extraordinary People Of 2013'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If Zach Sobiech's song, "Clouds," touched your heart, you're not alone.
CNN has named the Stillwater High School teen one of their "Extraordinary People" of 2013.
The event is being hosted by Anderson Cooper and will air Wednesday at 9 p.m.
Sobiech died from a rare form of cancer in May.
"Clouds" has gotten more than nine million hits on YouTube and reached the No. 1 spot on the iTunes singles chart.
Proceeds from its download on iTunes are going to the University's Cancer Research fund. It will go towards a prevention and cure of the cancer Sobiech was diagnosed with, osteosarcoma.
In September, Sobiech's family gave the University of Minnesota a check for $568,000 on behalf of their son.
