History Theatre To Stage In-Progress Work Readings

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — History Theatre will present staged readings of four new scripts being developed by Minnesota artists next month.

The Raw Stages New Works Festival will be held Jan 14-19 at the 3M Auditorium at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul.

Among the readings is a revised script of "Debutante Ball" by Eric "Pogi" Sumangil about Minnesota's Filipino community.

Also featured are three newly commissioned scripts — "Boundary Waters,' by Carlyle Brown; "Glensheen," by Jeffrey Hatcher, with music and lyrics by Chan Poling; and "Radio Man" by "A Prairie Home Companion" creator Garrison Keillor.

Tickets are $10 per reading or $25 for a Raw Stages pass.

The St. Paul-based History Theatre has produced over 100 world premieres since 1978.
