Students Lead Tours Of Parks Minn. Photo Exhibit

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Student artists are leading tours of a Gordon Parks photography exhibit in Minneapolis.

The students are helping others learn about Parks' work as part of the "One Minneapolis One Read" community read.

Visitors can join the student guides on tours of the photography exhibit, "A Choice of Weapons: A Living Legacy," at Mill City Museum Commons.

The exhibit features photographs by Parks alongside photos by students.

The tours are free but available by reservation only. The tours run through June 6, 2014.

This year's book for One Minneapolis One Read is Parks' autobiography, "A Choice of Weapons." The famed photographer was in his teens when he left Kansas to live with his sister in St. Paul.

Parks was 93 when he died in New York in 2006.
