Winter Carnival Medallion Found

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- The St. Paul Winter Carnival medallion has been located.

A tweet from the Pioneer Press confirmed this year's hunt is now officially over, and that the medallion was located in Como Park.

Benjamin Haselman said that he has been searching for the Winter Carnival Medallion since he was a kid.

The 27-year old found it around 7 a.m. Monday in Como Park.

He says he's been looking there since the first clue, and hunted through bitterly cold temperatures.

"All of a sudden, (I was) chipping and I came across a little piece of denim. And I was thinking, first clue -- 'Winter Carnival is part of our jeans.' So it kind of made sense," he said.

The St. Paul native actually takes time off from work at a medical device company to search for the medallion. He won $10,000 for his find.
