Sheriff: Woman Dies 11 Days After Crash With Ambulance

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a 51-year-old woman involved in a crash with an ambulance earlier this month in Buffalo Township died from her injuries on Wednesday.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash at about 1:26 a.m. on Jan. 18 on County Road 35 near Eaken Avenue NE in Buffalo Township. An ambulance being driven by a 43-year-old Albertville man had crashed head-on with a 2013 Lincoln SUV. The driver of the SUV, a Monticello woman, was taken to North Memorial Hospital.

The woman, identified as Marilyn Paumen, died from her injuries on Wednesday.

Authorities said two paramedics, Timothy Daly and Brian Nagel, were badly hurt in the crash. Nagel was taken to Allina Hospital in Buffalo before being moved to North Memorial Hospital. A patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash was not hurt.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office said it's still investigating what led up to the crash.
