Duluth Woman Admits Role In Landlord Killing
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Prosecutors say a Duluth woman has admitted her role in the 2012 stabbing death of her former landlord.
The St. Louis County Attorney's Office says 32-year-old Joella Lee Tucker pleaded guilty Wednesday to an amended charge of aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
Tucker had been charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree murder. In return for her guilty plea, Tucker's involvement in the killing won't be considered by any grand jury that may be convened.
The anticipated sentence for Tucker under Minnesota sentencing guidelines is 10 years and 10 months. Sentencing has not been scheduled.
Tucker was charged in the death of 54-year-old Duluth landlord Kevin Tyman, who was stabbed in his apartment.
Tucker's co-defendant, 42-year-old Raymond Weeks of Twin Harbors, is charged with intentional second-degree murder. Weeks' case is pending.
