Sheriff: Man's Body Found In Benton County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a man's body was found on the side of a road near St. Cloud Tuesday afternoon.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office received a report of a dead body on the side of a road at about 2:25 p.m. on County Road 75 between Mayhew Lake Road and East St. Germain Street. The sheriff's office, with assistance from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, recovered the body of an adult white male.

The body was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the man's identity, cause of death and manner of death. Authorities said there were not any signs of immediate danger to the public.

County Road 75 is closed in the area as authorities investigate the man's death.
