University of Minnesota Receives New Sculptures
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two unique sculptures were installed at the new physics and nano-technology building at the University of Minnesota Saturday.
The steel sculptures are 10 feet tall and weigh 3,000 pounds.
It took the sculptor more than a year to complete them in Portland, Ore.
He wanted to transform the human figure into a large number of vertically arranged parallel steel slices, with open gaps in between.
A ceremony to dedicate the new building and works of art is planned for April.
