Minnesotans Named Among Nation's Best Drivers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new report names Minnesotans some of the best drivers in the country overall.

Using data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the National Motorists Association and Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the website carinsurancecomparison.com ranked Minnesota fourth best.

They looked at fatality rates, drunk driving, tickets, careless driving and seat belt usage.

Vermont came in at the top of the list, and Louisiana came in last.

However, looking at the numbers closer, Minnesotan's should be too quick to swing around bragging rights. The report put Minnesota 19th when it came to the number of drunk driving arrests.

And Minnesota didn't do so well in terms of the fewest number of traffic tickets, either. On that list, the state ranked 26th.
