Jesus Christ Superstar Arena Spectacular Coming To St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Jesus Christ Superstar is coming to St. Paul this summer, bringing a lot of familiar faces and a re-imagined production fit for an arena.

What's being called an "arena spectacular" tour will come to the Xcel Energy Center on July 31.

The cast of the highly popular rock musical features Brandon Boyd (of the rock band Incubus) as Judas Iscariot, JC Chasez (of *NSYNC) as Pontius Pilate, Michelle Williams (of Destiny's Child) as Mary Magdalene and John Rotten Lydon (of Public Image Ltd. and Sex Pistols) as King Herod.

British actor and singer Ben Forster will perform the role of Jesus.

The production features more than 60 cast members and musicians on stage.

Tickets range from $47 to $97 and will go on sale Friday, May 9 at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office, Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, charge by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at ticketmaster.com.
