Lynx G Monica Wright Out After Knee Surgery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Lynx announced Sunday night that guard Monica Wright is out indefinitely with a knee injury.
Team officials said Wright, who is the back-up at point guard to Lindsay Whalen, had arthroscopic knee surgery on her left knee on Friday. The procedure took place at TRIA Orthopedics in Bloomington.
She will be sidelined indefinitely and there is no current timetable for her return. Wright played in 33 games last year and averaged nine points per game for the WNBA champion Lynx. She also recorded career-highs in rebounds (2.9 per game), assists (2.3 per game) and steals (1.03 per game) while averaging more than 22 minutes per game.
