Vikings QB Bridgewater Motivated By Slide

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Teddy Bridgewater says he is going to be playing with a chip on his shoulder after falling all the way to the last pick of the first round of the NFL draft.

Bridgewater was once considered the top quarterback in the class of 2014. But after a poor showing at his pre-draft workout, Bridgewater fell all the way to No. 32, where the Minnesota Vikings traded up to get him.

Bridgewater arrived in Minnesota on Friday along with fellow first-round draft pick Anthony Barr, a UCLA linebacker the Vikings chose at No. 9.

Bridgewater says he's happy to be a Viking, but also eager to prove all the teams that passed on him wrong.

The Vikings had two third-round picks on Friday night on the second day of the draft.
