Local Music Tap: Motion City Soundtrack Movie, Acoustic Performance Of 1st Album
To celebrate the release of their new video documentary, Minneapolis-born Motion City Soundtrack is set to perform the album I Am The Movie acoustic in its entirety Wednesday in St. Paul.
Last year, after sorting through video footage and photographs of their experience making I Am The Movie in the early-2000s and liking what they saw, the band asked their friend Melissa Kraemer to lead and edit the project.
The documentary is set for release Tuesday through their label Epitaph Records. It'll be available on limited edition DVD in the original floppy disk packaging the album was released on – as well as iTunes and Amazon.
Now, for the first time ever, the band will celebrate the documentary's release by performing the album in its entirety at the McNally Smith Auditorium this Wednesday at 8 p.m.
If you can't snag a ticket, you can also stream the concert here.
