Pedestrian Struck By Car In Fridley

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car Wednesday afternoon in Fridley.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. after a man exited a bus on the east side of University Avenue near Mississippi Street, according to Fridley Police.

The man was crossing University westbound when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police believe the driver had a green light, which the victim was walking against. The driver stopped and cooperated with police.

Traffic was diverted for a while as investigators reconstructed the accident scene.
