Mpls. Woman Asks For Help In Finding Stolen Bike

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minneapolis woman is asking for help to find her stolen bike.

This isn't an ordinary bike. Thieves took Louise Young's TerraTrike Rover.

It has three wheels.

Young relied on her TerraTrike Rover.

"It's my physical therapy. It's my strength. It gets me out in the neighborhood," Young said.

Young fell a year ago and broke her femur. She's gone through phases, first using a wheelchair, then walker and now a cane. The Rover was part of a final phase to help strengthen her leg.

"Sometimes people get discouraged, and sometimes people give up. So I don't want to give up," Young said.

A week ago Young walked out of her apartment complex only to find her Rover was gone.

"It was locked on this post and on this post. It was gone and I couldn't believe it," Young said.

The TerraTrike Rover is silver and black. It has a horn and purple decals between the front wheels and leading to the back wheel. She doesn't know who would steal from outside her building near 35th Avenue South and East 50th Street in Minneapolis but said she wants her Rover back.

To her, being able to ride the Rover is part of her recovery.

"It means I get stronger and healthier. I don't know where I'll end up, but I want the opportunity to go as far as I can," Young said.

If you have any information on the missing TerraTrike Rover, contact Minneapolis police.

You can register your bike with police by using 311 or by going to the Minneapolis Police Department website.
