2 Workers Shocked, 1 Fatally, Near Fairfax

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two workers at a power line work site near Fairfax, Minnesota were shocked on Monday morning, according to the Renville County Sheriff's Office.

The accident happened at about 8:45 a.m. Both workers were airlifted from the scene.

One of the workers subsequently died as a result of the accident. The second worker's condition was not immediately released.

The accident happened along the CapX2020 Brookings County-Hampton construction project. A spokesperson said Great River Energy is leading the project construction and has suspended work by all crews until further notice.

Authorities did not release the victims' conditions. They were employed by Donovan Construction of Ham Lake, Minnesota.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
