Fiancé Of Kelly Phillips Asks For Help Finding Killer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – For the first time Wednesday, the man who lost his fiancé in a shooting at a Twin Cities gas station spoke publicly.

Nathon Bailey spoke outside of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Minneapolis just days before he and Kelly Phillips were supposed to be married.

"Kelly Phillips and I were engaged to be married this Saturday," Bailey said. "Instead I have lost the love of my life and my best friend."

Until Wednesday, Bailey had remained private about the death of Phillips, a Boston Scientific attorney who was gunned down earlier this month at an Arden Hills gas station.

Phillips' ex-boyfriend, Ty Hoffman, is wanted for the killing, and officials say he's on the run. Currently, there's a $25,000 reward for information on his whereabouts.

"If you know something, please, I beg of you, step forward," Bailey said.

He asked the public to help him achieve justice for Phillips.

"Help us remember a man who changed my life for the better and changed the world around him for the better," he said.

Bailey also encouraged those listening to care for those around them.

"That's what Kelly did," he said, "and that's what we loved and honored about him so much."

A memorial service is to be held for Phillips on Thursday.
